4.20 Keynote Speakers: Sunday, April 20th, 2014!
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Bob Malamede, Professor U.C.C.S
The MMJBA is proud to welcome Professor Malamede, aka "Dr. Bob" to the International Cannabis Technology Expo. Professor Malamede is a leader in both activism and the science of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system.
My interests revolve around understanding the physic of life. The flow of energy and mass through living systems is a manifestation of the fundamental creative nature of systems existing far from equilibrium. The fractal-like nature of oscillations and deterministic chaos are fundamental properties of living systems and evolution.
The endocannabinoid system is a unique outcome of the evolutionary process. Exploring the amazing health benefits of medical marijuana is a practical application of my work.
Keynote Speaker: Jason Lauve, Hemp Cleans
The MMJBA welcomes Hemp Cleans’ Founder and Executive Director, Jason Lauve. Jason has spent years fighting the front line battles to insure safe and legal access to marijuana and HEMP. Jason will address the current legislation in Colorado to legalize industrial hemp. In addition, Jason will share an update of the Industrial Hemp Remediation Pilot Program, which was signed into law by Governor Hickenlooper.
Jason will discuss how hemp is grown and processed, as well as markets, and address questions from farmers who are interested in growing industrial hemp. We will be discussing the legislation that is currently being looked at in Colorado, as well as at the national level.
Keynote Speaker: Bob Crouse
When Bob fell off a latter in 2010, he went to the hospital - and found out he had leukemia. The doctor's advice? "What and see." Bob was also informed (kindly) that his insurance was not going to cover his cost.
Faced with a death sentence, Bob did what our forefathers did. He figured it out himself. With no insurance, a broken rib and leukemia, Bob began a journey unlike any other. In the coming years, Bob would be robbed, raided by the police (destroyed lab and seized his cannabis), arrested, and was prosecuted by one of America's toughest District Attorneys.
Guess what happened? Bob fought the law - Bob changed the law.
Using holistic treatments and cannabis oils Bob Crouse reports being able to control his own leukemia. As he puts it, "I've found a way with Cannabis to kill the leukemia cells faster than they can kill me."
Bob had to "fight for the right to save his own life." And he won.
On Dec. 19th, 2013, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled 2 to 1 that the District Court ruling ordering the Colorado Springs Police to return marijuana seized. Bob also has a lawsuit against the City of Colorado Springs because his cannabis medicine was ruined while in police care.
Keynote Speakers: FRAP - Front Range Aquaponics
The MMJBA is proud to present FRAP and "Project Eden."
Working together with the MMJBA, Project Eden was born - "Self-sustaining, environmentally friendly, cannabis producing, ecosystems."
With the Green Rush 2.0 in full force, the need to conserve our resources and produce reliably high-quality cannabis for both patients and recreational users is at an all time 'high.'
The MMJBA and FRAP believe we have found a 21st Century solution to a global problem. Conservation and 'grass roots' locally produced self-sustaining ecosystems with the ability to produce year-round fruits, vegetables, and yes, marijuana.
FRAP will explain how one can build, capture and maintain your own environmentally friendly self-sustained Aquaponics ecosystems.
